Disseminating Evidence in Clinical Change Projects

Some challenges are evident, especially when disseminating results of the practice change project. Different interventions can apply when publishing project findings. According to Melnyk (2014), educational and mentorship support plays a key role in supporting the declaration of practice change project’s results. Therefore, I would utilize a team-based approach that engages trans-disciplinary nursing professionals as mentors to declare the results. Melnyk (2014) illustrates that evidence-based project (EBP) support clinicians to implement change projects and handle barriers experienced in the continuum of care.

Teaching EBP and engaging stakeholders require the support of experienced professionals in nursing care. The evidence-based council that engages professionals from various disciplines is important in teaching and engaging stakeholders in clinical processes (Melnyk, 2014). According to Warren et al. (2016), dissemination of clinical activities should target policymakers or clinicians to implement healthcare guidelines. Councils of nurse managers and representatives of various clinical staff, such as physicians, pharmacists, among others are important players in evidence dissemination.

The spirit of inquiry is an essential concept in an organization. Melnyk (2014) maintains that the spirit of inquiry can be enhanced in healthcare facilities, which practice the culture that allows professionals to make inquiries about their practices. Furthermore, when organizations develop infrastructure and allocate resources that facilitate nursing professionals to gain access to publications from scholarly databases, the spirit of inquiry is kept alive (Melnyk, 2014). Besides, organizations should implement policies to support EBP and allocate time for engaging in the EBP process within their productive activities. Therefore, adopting EBP practices within policy frameworks would promote the spirit of inquiry in healthcare facilities.
